ABOUT REIKI SHIZEN
Hello!
I’m Susan Horiuchi, founder of Reiki Shizen. I'm a state-certified Reiki Master Teacher in the Usui Shiki Ryoho lineage and a certified meditation teacher. I've been a Reiki Practitioner since 2015 and opened Reiki Shizen in 2022. We offer Reiki services, classes, meditation, holistic coaching, wellness events, retreats, and healing circles in our wellness center in Issaquah. Many services are available virtually as well.
At Reiki Shizen, we're committed to serving the highest quality of care to our clients by providing a holistic approach to wellness and healing through the practice of Reiki and meditation. Combined with our learning and coaching programs, we aspire to empower individuals to access their own inner guidance, wisdom, and healing abilities. We look forward to sharing these amazing healing arts with you!
My Story
My healing journey began in the mid-1980s, when personal health issues prompted me to explore alternative medicine. Through this process, I became a devoted student and patient of various natural healing practices. During this time, I also enhanced my physical, mental, and energetic health by attending numerous workshops on qi gong and various martial arts styles under respected grandmasters, masters, and teachers from around the world. For nearly a decade, I studied Wing Chun and attained assistant instructor certification.
Today, I enjoy a daily practice of self-Reiki, meditation, and gentle yoga. I am incredibly grateful to have learned (and continue to learn!) such empowering disciplines and wisdom. I incorporate these amazing tools into my practice and teaching.
The Japanese word Reiki translates to "universal energy," and Shizen translates to "nature" or "a natural state." I'm inspired by the miracles of nature and its omnipresence, offering gentle reminders of the present moment and our interconnectedness. It is through this connection that we can embody our wholeness and true selves.
Reiki Shizen represents a culmination of many years of growth and development. As a dedicated practitioner and teacher, my goal is to share the transformative benefits of Reiki and meditation by offering personalized services, classes, events, and healing circles to help individuals reach a natural state of optimal health and well-being. We can do this!
